Rhode Island Recording Fees

 The basic schedule of Town Clerks’ recording fees is found in 34-13-7 to 34-13-9 of the General Laws.  Section 34-13-7 provides for the fees allowed to the recording officers for recording instruments relating to real estate as follows:                                  

  • Warranty Deed $84.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Quitclaim Deed $84.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Deed of Executor, administrator Trustee, conservator, receiver or commissioner $84.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Mortgage $64.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Partial release of mortgage $49.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Assignment of mortgage $49.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Foreclosure deed under power of sale with affidavit $84.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Lease $64.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • General assignment $49.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Discharge of mortgage $49.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Writ of Attachment or Execution affecting title to real estate $10.00 (No Change)
  • Mechanic’s lien $10.00 (No Change)
  • Writ of Attachment or Execution affecting mobile & manufactured homes $10.00 (No Change)
  • Discharge of attachment or execution $49.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Any other instrument not otherwise expressly provided for by statute $49.00 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Lien-Federal tax $11.25 + $1.00 each additional page
  • Lien-Federal tax, discharge of $11.25 + $1.00 each additional page Maps, plats, surveys, drawings (not attached to or a part of another recordable instrument) $49.00 + $1.00 each additional page
